<title>Cross Platform Client Application Architect Sought for Mozilla-based Project</title>
<link>http://www.opensourcexperts.com/Jobs/viewjob.html?id=422</link>
<description>We’re a start-up company working to create new software based on the Mozilla source code. The motivation of the product is the movement to a net-based lifestyle--applications like the browser should not just take you to a website but should help organize and improve the functionality of the core web services you use. It’s thus a quite exciting project that has the potential to affect a lot of people.

For the technical end, the Mozilla source code involves several languages and skillsets...so it's quite challenging.

We're right now seeking a lead programmer/architect for the project. The lead would manage and mentor a small team of developers in India (it would take 6-12 months to get processes organized after which time work could be off-site if you don't live in India).

Having previous experience with Mozilla is fantastic. A minimum for a lead is the deliver of multiple, large-scale applications for multiple OSes as well as past experience managing large amounts of code, automating testing, working in an agile programming environment, managing code reviews, etc. Ideally, you should be comfortable working in C/C++, javascript, another scripting language like Python or Ruby, and XML. Knowledge of Mozilla platform technologies like XPCOM, DOM, and XUL is a big plus.

Personality-wise, you should be brilliant, love challanges and problems, get things done, be independently motivated and articulate. We offer a competitive salary, the best work experience of your career (for the person seeking intense but very challenging and exciting work with a lot of responsibility), and a spectacular bonus if the product is commercially successful.

Please write us with your resume and a letter of interest at metastart@gmail.com if you feel this is you!! Thank you!
