<title>PHP Developer</title>
<link>http://www.opensourcexperts.com/Jobs/viewjob.html?id=495</link>
<description>Pause Productions is a small development house looking for additional PHP/MySQL developers to grow our team. This challenging full-time position requires excellent problem solving skills and proven commercial (real-world) experience.

Most of our projects are unusually complex web applications (online product configurators, global shipping and inventory control, manufacturing and quality control tracking, point of sale, etc) that require creative solutions to unique problems. As well as being able to provide those solutions, you should have experience in...

PHP
MySQL
Javascript
Smarty, CSS, and general HTML layout

Experience
On top of the various technologies we use, we also need our employees to have some real world experience. You will need to be able to successfully communicate with clients and translate business requirements into functioning code. You should be able to take a request from a customer, understand their underlying needs (asking the right questions if necessary), and then implement a solution that fills the request.

On top of your technical expertise, we are looking for people who love what they do and share the same passion for technology and building solutions as we do. You should have the same drive to devour information and personally improve your skillset and discipline as we do. As a small, rapidly-growing privately-owned company, we provide a comfortable and entertaining environment in which to work and a place that provides opportunity for growth both professionally and technically. By working directly with the company's principals, your demonstration of exceptional growth, commitment and achievement will be rewarded. Complacent and unmotivated individuals need not apply.

Positions Currently Available:
Intermediate Web Developer
Candidates for this position should have at least 2-4 years of experience in programming in the above areas and interfacing directly with end-clients. You should be comfortable working either independently or in a team environment. You should be unafraid to bring forth ideas to improve projects and 'show us your stuff.'

Senior Web Developer
Candidates for this position should have at least 5 years of experience in programming in the above areas. You should also have an equal amount of experience working with end-clients in determining how their business requirements impact technical requirements. Senior developers should be able to competently design and manage applications and convert them into extensible database structures and usable interfaces. Though you will often have to independently manage your own work initiatives, we are looking for collaborators. You should be able to confidently lead projects and provide guidance and direction to other developers where required.

<title>Php Superstar in Chicago</title>
<link>http://www.opensourcexperts.com/Jobs/viewjob.html?id=724</link>
<description>Hello everybody.

BACKGROUND:
I'm a web developer/designer and AdWords Professional who is expanding past the home-based business! Business is booming and I need to get an office and staff quickly. The first person I need is a take-charge, get-shit-done-and-done-right, PHP/MySQL expert who can hit the ground running.

PREFERRED QUALITIES:
I need a bright, self-motivated PHP developer who is excited and interested in helping me grow this thing. Someone who isn’t afraid to learn new skills and is open to new possibilities as the web marketing field continues to evolve. No degree required (I ain't got none - lol).

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Must be really good at PHP/MySQL (2+ years experience) with good examples of clean code. I'm a stickler for standards-compliance, clean code, full-css, separation of presentation / content, etc, etc, etc.

PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Most of the design/development work comes from AdWords clients, which is actually what the business specializes in. Someone who is a Qualified AdWords Professional gets bonus points. Would need to be willing to become one otherwise, which I can help you with.
- Been doing more open-source development for small projects. Experience with Drupal, Wordpress, SugarCMS, etc. would be great.
- We also do a lot of Google Analytics set-up and monitoring. Experience implementing and configuring would be good.
- I'm using odesk.com now to outsource some work and would love to also have someone with Project Management experience, or is willing and capable to learn.
- There's definitely other skills that would be valuable to bring. I am willing to train in other areas as needed and quite open to learning from you too.

POSITION:
- Job is a regular 9-5 (or 8-4 or 10-6) M-F in a laid-back but highly productive office environment.
- You'll be provided with project descriptions to self-manage, the end goal is the priority. I'll market, sell, and strategize with both client and you, and will still be helping with design/development.
- The office will be here: http://www.riverfrontworklofts.com/site/epage/6035_310.htm (I'd like to move it to Oak Park eventually though.)

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
The business is growing and you can grow your position with it! Starting salary is $40k - $50k. I'm hoping to stay at the lower end to get rolling, but also hoping to get someone with good experience, so may have to pay the higher end of the range. Let me know what you require when you reply.

Benefits package kicks in after 90 days including health insurance with 50% coverage on you and family, 2 weeks vacation first year, major holidays, and some 'actually-sick' days (please, no bullshitting me). You will also be eligible for the profit-sharing plan after the first 90 days.

NEXT STEPS:
Alrighy, things are set to go, just waiting to hear from the right person! Forward resume/code examples to bfajobs@yahoo.com.

Thanks!
Philip

PS: Feel free too to let me know if there is sticking point or two, maybe we can work it out. Job is definitely on site though (already working with good people off site).</description>
